If whats happening in Ferguson was happening to an all white community, it would be called a dystopian novel

#and all actions against the police would be heroic and daring#and the plucky white protags would be encouraged to use violence to stop the injustice

I find it interesting how society doesn’t care when the media sexualizes women, when men sexualize women, or when school and the government sexualize women. But the second a woman is in control, and sexualizes herself willingly, it’s wrong and disgusting.

cheeklessonion said: omg I am so very sorry someone changed the text of your original post and that I participated in that shit by reblogging it. Until now I didn't even know people actually do things like that (will definitely check sources in the future). I know it doesn't mean much since it has reached several thousand notes, but I will delete it.

thanks for reaching out! it means a lot actually <3

Can a thin person have body image struggles? Can a thin person be at war with their self-image? Can a thin person hate to look in the mirror?

Absolutely.

And does that suck?

Absolutely.

But the difference between these negative feelings and fatphobia is this: The only person worrying about whether or not I’m meeting beauty standards is me.

And that’s not the same for fat folk.

When you’re not thin, other people on the beach actually do take offense. When you’re not thin, people really do think that you shouldn’t be in a bathing suit. When you’re not thin, people really do make your body their moral obligation.

And while your internal struggle is real and significant, the point is: You might hate your body, but society doesn’t.

That’s thin privilege.

Butch is defiance. Butch ignores the male gaze & tells patriarchy to fuck off. Butch is a refusal of the pressure to be thinner, whiter, pimple-free, wrinkle-free, smaller, quieter. Butch says that we won’t take the short skirts and you can keep the catcalls to yourself.
